Music Video: Boston - More Than A Feeling

I try to keep YouTube posting to my blog to as little as possible. Sometimes I find something that I just have to share, Boston's More Than A Feeling, what a classic rock song that defines my generation. I absolutely love this song.
Great guitar riffs and awesome singing by lead-man (And now deceased) Brad Bjorkman.
Put on your headphones and crank it up!

Train Songs

While riding the train to Hikkaduwa we started naming all of the train songs we could think of.
The challenge was for whoever guessed a song to have the other try to guess it with as few clues as possible. We both had some great stumpers.
The songs had to have either trains in the title or mentioned in the song.
Here are a few we came up with.

(Under duress I had to publicly announce that Chris completely whipped my behind in this game coming up with most of the songs for almost 36 hours +)

Plain White T's - Hey there Delilah
Bachman Turner Overdrive - Taking care of business
Cat Stevens - Peace Train
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Berlin - Metro
Arlo Guthrie - City of New Orleans
Molly Hatchet - Train Train
Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison
Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Janis Joplin - Me and Bobby McGhee (Written by Kris Kristofferson)
Greatful Dead - Casey Jones
Blondie - Rapture
Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath
Crosby Stills and Nash - Marrakesh Express
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Midnight Special
Gladys Night and the Pips - Midnight Train to Georgia
The O'Jays - Love Train
Marshall Tucker Band - Can't You See
Rod Stewart - People Get Ready

Muzak Attack

One funny thing that I noticed about shopping at the local grocery store has to be their choice of muzak, mostly classic rock and roll songs. Amusing in the fact that classic rock and roll songs that would be in English, not the most favorite music here.

Another thing about the muzak is it sure makes me feel old! Today at the grocery store I heard 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen, wow, never would have though that would make the muzak circuit, but then we heard 'Shine on you crazy diamond' by Pink Floyd, double wow!

So I'm guessing here that everyone knows what muzak is, for those of you who don't it's the instrumental music that is playing in the background at the mall etc. that usually has that lounge lizard feel to it.

The great bands of the 70's

You know what I like about many of the bands from the 70's? They had
those great three word names that made neat acronyms and you just
referred to them by that. For instance?

LRB - Little River Band
CDB - Charlie Daniels Band
ARS - Atlanta Rhythm Section

And those that didn't you could just refer to by their last name.
For instance?

Floyd - Pink Floyd
Skynard - Lynard Skynard
Purple - Deep Purple.

Can't do that with the groups and band these days? I mean, does anybody
really say, hey are you listening to some Taylor (Which Taylor?) or
crank up the Spears!

So whats some of your favorite 3 word bands of the 70's?
