Quick Update

I know I haven't posted in awhile, really don't have any excuse. For the past couple of days I've been down with a head cold and the decongestants I've been taking have made me a bit drowsy when I get home.

I have also started reading more and surfing the Internet less. My entire day at work I sit in front of a computer and lately I just get more and more tired of whacking away at keyboard.

I had planned on going home in September but decided to postpone it until the holiday season. Seems I haven't been in the States for Christmas in what seems like ages.

New and Improved(?) Doc Report

I have been meaning to change to a new blog template for what seems like years, probably close to it.

I spent some time looking at free Blogger templates but decided to go with Blogger.com's own template designer and I was really glad the transition didn't break any of my old widgets.

I need to play around with it a little bit more, rearrange things etc.

Now I need to start posting some fresh material.

Recent comments - Accidentally Rejected

I have done it twice this week. Whats that? Accidentally rejected friendly comments sent to my blog!

I almost mechanically press the "Reject" link when I get a comment sent to my blog as I usually only get spam.

Well I rejected a comment yesterday, and kicked myself, then a minute ago, did it again!

My apologies to the nice folks who have sent me comments that I have rejected. Nothing wrong with your comments, something wrong with my knee jerk reaction to them : )

Welcome Back

Wanted to extend a warm welcome to my wife who after a long hiatus of not reading my blog has recently returned to reading it and editing it with gusto. I will probably get in trouble for posting this.

I'd also like to thank all of my faithful readers who have followed the Doc Report since its transition from email to blog format.

Where I had lost many of my original readers, I have picked up a whole world, literally, of new readers which is pretty neat.

Which remind me it's probably time to repeat the Doc Report manifesto. Okay, there will be grammar mistakes, English comp wasn't one of my best subjects. For that matter, not sure I even took it. I try to not to go long periods of time without updating my blog, but every now and then I will hit a slump. I do moderate my comments so please don't spam me.

But most of all I am happy that your reading my blog!

Comments

I've had a rash of comment SPAM lately which kind of surprises me. I don't understand someone going through all of the trouble to complete the CAPTCHA for the off chance that I would publish the comment (SPAM).

There are hacker spammers out there with programs that can bypass the CAPTCHA which I think is most likely the case.

But I just wanted to thank the anonymous commenter who left me a post recently regarding my mini-vacation to Beruwela : )

First Rule of Blog Club...

Is you don't talk about blog club. The second rule of blog club is you don't talk about blog club.

Blog Changes New

I made yet some more blog changes.  I realized that I had some bookmarking buttons in the left hand column that were totally redundant in that I have bookmarking capabilities built in via the "Add This" button on each of my posts.   I know The Doc Report is a little slow to load so I have been wittling away at the dumb stuff.  I hope your taking advantage of the subscribe features and not visiting the blog :  )

I also enabled Blogger "Reactions" features which is supposed to allow readers to click reactions to each post such as funny, interesting etc. but I have yet to see this feature and have looked with a couple of different browsers.

The geekiest thing I have done which is most transparent to the reader is I added some code that changes my posting title to Title - Blog Name.  What?

Well Blogger posts by default appear in listings as Blog name - post name, ie.e The Doc Report - Blog Changes New but with the code I added it now appears as Blog Changes New - The Doc Report.  So should the post appear in Google etc. it would draw the potential blog reader :  )

If anyone is interested in the hack please comment.

Wrap Up

I haven't posted in awhile, and now I don't know where to start but here
goes.

Tawny the kitty is gone. I took her to the Sunday ferria (open market)
near my home and through a little Spanglish was able to give her away to
a mother and daughter, the little girl loved Tawny and I'm sure the will
give her a good home.

Carnival continues and I can hear the drums at night.

Still very warm, in the 80's. The beaches have been packed.

I'll think of something more interesting to blog about soon!

SPAM'd

I apologize for that SPAM posting, still not sure how it got through. But on the other hand I'm kind of happy that a spammer picked my little ol' blog out of millions of others to spam...NOT!
